WHAT IS IT:
Is a sterile solution designed solely to be used with drugs that require dilution or must be dissolved in an aqueous vehicle before injection. WATERMED (Bacteriostatic Water For Injections) is a highly purified, sterilized water containing 0.9% Benzyl Alcohol that is used to dilute or dissolve medications to the appropriate consistency for injection. Bacteriostatic water (BW) has a pH of about 5.7.

HOW TO USE: 1
Bacteriostatic water is used to dilute or dissolve drugs to be injected into the patient, according to instructions from the manufacturer of the drug to be administered.
It is different from sterilized water, which is filtered and purified but has no additives and is generally only available for single use.
